Description
This is an original unrestored 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. The 4-4-2 designation referred to the 400 cubic inch engine, four-barrel carburetor, and dual exhausts. It is powered by the mighty 345hp 400V8 mated to a Jet-Away automatic transmission connected to 3.23 rear gear. The engine also produced an impressive 440 lbs./ft. of torque which gives this car considerable thrust off the line. The 442 package kept the reputation it had developed the previous year as being relatively mild-mannered and one of the best handling mid-sized cars in all of General Motors. Most of this was achieved through a carefully tuned suspension that included front and rear anti-roll bars that was much stiffer than the standard suspensions available for the models. Other features on this car include power steering, Bucket seats with console tach, 15in torque thrust wheels and more. Dressed in its original colors of Burgundy Mist and Black interior makes this a great looking muscle car. Coming out of CA, AZ, and the west coast the frame is very nice being unrestored but very solid. The engine fires right up, idles smooth and drives very strong. A mechanically solid car with working stereo, wipers, gauges, horn, and lights including interior open door lights. Documented with the Protect O Plate, original owner’s manual, a folder of some receipts from awhile ago and car show trophies.
