Here is a 14k mile 1988 Corvette. This one is the 35th Anniversay Edition dressed in all white. Only 2,050 of the 22,789 Corvettes built in 1988 were given the Z01 35th Anniversary Edition package. Available only in coupe form, this $4,795 option was distinguished by a two-tone exterior color treatment of White paint with a Black roof bow. In addition to matching White leather on the seats and steering wheel rim, the car also incorporated special interior and exterior accents, a console-mounted 35th anniversary plaque, special emblems and other distinguishing features. More than just a cosmetic treatment, the Z01 package also included sport seats with power driver’s seat, electronic air-conditioning control, an illuminated driver’s vanity mirror, rear window and driver’s-side mirror defog. The 35th Anniversary was the best handling Corvette available thanks to the Z51 Sports Handling Package, which featured the largest wheels ever seen on a production Corvette – newly styled 17×9.5-inch aluminum wheels with 12 cooling slots, mounting P275/40ZR17 performance radial tires. The Z51 package also incorporated higher spring rates, special Delco-Bilstein shock absorbers, a finned external power steering cooler and larger front brake calipers and rotors for increased stopping power.
This particular vette is optioned with two removable roof panels (glass and opaque) and the performance axle ratio (G92). When equipped with the optional 3.07:1 performance rear axle the car also included an improved muffler system that provided less restrictive airflow, resulting in a bump of 5 hp to 245 hp for so-optioned models.
According to the inspection report the car is in great shape showing wear consistent to its mileage and age. This beautiful vette drives like a 14k mile should with no shimmies or rattles. The doors shut tight and the car feels almost new. It is documented with the window sticker and original books and manuals.
